A 23-year-old man on a Kaohsiung MRT train lost control of his emotions, shouting and appearing to be ready to attack others after allegedly being insulted by an elderly man for sitting on a priority seat. Passengers alerted authorities, leading to the man being restrained by MRT police and hospitalized. The man, later remorseful, was taken home by his family. This incident is part of a trend of controversies in Taiwan related to priority seat use, prompting the government to consider changing the name and expanding the eligibility criteria for these seats.
