Multiple malfunctions at Jinhe Sports Park in Zhonghe District, caused by construction of an underground parking lot, led to water accumulation and bulging track surfaces, resulting in public falls during activities. Complaints have been made regarding the disruptions, with New Taipei City Councilor Zhang Weiqian advocating for the root causes to be identified and addressed, in order to provide a safe leisure space for the public. Despite the park's PU track meeting international standards and costing NT$15.6 million in 2018, difficulties arose as a result of the underground parking lot project nearly removing the track. Issues included poor drainage designs causing water accumulation and bulges in the track surface leading to potential injuries for users.
