In a recent incident at Da Hu Park, a Shiba Inu dog attacked and killed a Mandarin Duck, sparking public concern. The Taipei City Animal Protection Department has intervened in the investigation and emphasized the need to enhance pet management in the park to prevent similar incidents. Witnessed by many, the Shiba Inu's sudden attack on the duck caused shock among onlookers. The department holds pet owners responsible for ensuring their pets do not pose a threat to other animals or people in public spaces and plans to educate and penalize the dog's owner in this case to deter such behavior. To prevent future incidents, the park management intends to increase signage, mandate leash use for dog-walkers, and bolster patrols to promptly address any attacks by pets on other animals.
