A Taipei City Councilor received a complaint from a citizen reporting their dog's suspicious death after a visit to Daan Forest Park, raising concerns of possible poisoning. The Councilor has requested an investigation into the potential presence of rat poison and similar substances at the park, with the animal protection agency confirming they are looking into the matter. The park management emphasized their long-standing practice of not using rat poison to protect the park's wildlife, particularly the resident crested serpent eagles. If deliberate poisoning is proven, violators could face up to five years in prison and fines ranging from 500,000 to 5 million New Taiwan Dollars.
