The U.S. Department of Justice has stated that Fisker, a bankrupt electric vehicle company, cannot pass recall repair costs onto customers, as it violates the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Fisker's bankruptcy plan mandates that they must repair defective and noncompliant vehicles at no cost. The company is under scrutiny, also facing an investigation from the SEC regarding its liquidation plan.
