Domestic Egg Prices Hit Record Lows! Oversupply Situation Urges Industry Chain to Lower Prices Together

Reported 7 months ago

Recently, domestic egg sales have been continuously slow, with wholesale prices dropping to 27.5 and 37 yuan per catty in Taipei. The egg prices have fallen for five consecutive times, reaching a new low in nearly two years. The Taipei Egg Merchants’ Guild once again urges catering businesses to lower prices appropriately to stimulate consumption. With oversupply of domestic eggs exceeding daily demand, some excess eggs are being sold at low prices or used as animal feed. The industry calls for synchronized price reductions across various sectors of the supply chain, including feed producers, chicken breeders, and food service providers, in order to truly benefit consumers.
