A 44-year-old woman, Ms. Huang, sought medical attention at an orthopedic clinic due to upper back soreness. An X-ray revealed a calcified tumor in the upper left abdomen, leading to the discovery of a 2.5 cm pancreatic cyst with local inflammation. She underwent laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy at Cheng Kung Hospital to remove the cyst without affecting the spleen. The incidence of pancreatic cysts is rising, with different types having varying malignant potential, emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups and healthy lifestyle choices to reduce the risk of pancreatic diseases.
