Donald Sutherland estimated he could have earned $14 million from 1978's 'National Lampoon's Animal House' if he had accepted a 2 percent gross profit fee instead of his $25,000 daily rate. The film went on to be a box office hit, making over $120 million worldwide. Sutherland, who recently passed away at 88, was credited with helping to get the film made and is remembered for his contribution to launching the careers of many young actors in the film industry.
