Former U.S. President Donald Trump has joined TikTok and quickly gained three million followers, a day after joining the platform he once tried to ban on national security grounds. By joining TikTok, Trump aims to connect with younger voters as he prepares for his third White House run against Democratic incumbent Joe Biden, who also has a presence on the app. ByteDance, TikTok's Chinese owner, is challenging a law requiring it to divest the platform, arguing against sharing U.S. user data with the Chinese government on national security grounds. Previous attempts by Trump to ban TikTok were blocked by courts.
