Doug Ingle, co-founder of the heavy rock band Iron Butterfly and singer on their hit song "In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida," passed away at 78. He was the last surviving member of the classic lineup from the late 1960s. Iron Butterfly's success was largely attributed to the 17-minute hit track, which spent 81 weeks in the top 10 in the U.S. and became Atlantic Records' bestselling album. Ingle's family announced his passing on social media, and he was remembered as a father, teacher, and friend.
