Legislature rejects the re-consideration of the legislative power law amendment, and President Tsai Ing-wen announced on June 24 that she will apply for a constitutional interpretation and temporary disposition, concerning whether to deliver a State of the Union address at the Legislative Yuan in the future. Tsai stressed that the opposition party should respect the constitution and refrain from rash actions before the Constitutional Court provides a ruling. Huang Kuo-chang, the leader of the legislator group of the People's Party, questioned if Tsai is acting like an emperor by asking everyone not to implement laws until the constitutional interpretation is released. The People's Party held a press conference against Tsai's move, criticizing her for making such requests without legal basis.
