DPP Street Campaign on Parliament Reform Reconsideration Bill: Su Tseng-Chang: Blue and White Disguise Reforms Actually Expand Power

Reported 8 months ago

On June 19, 2024, New Taipei City Party Chairman Su Tseng-Chang led several legislators and party officials in ongoing campaigning activities at the Fuzhong Shopping District in Banqiao. The Taiwan Legislative Yuan is soon to face a crucial vote on the reconsideration of parliamentary powers reform. The DPP New Taipei City Branch has been actively engaging in street campaigns to urge support for the reconsideration bill. Su Tseng-Chang emphasized that since the new parliament was established, the KMT and MPC have not promoted any beneficial legislation but have actively passed empowerment bills to increase parliamentary power, as well as planning to push through a series of potentially unconstitutional bills. She stressed that this behavior, disguised as reform but actually expanding power, goes against public opinion and will inevitably provoke public backlash and disgust.
