After the highly controversial parliamentary reform bills, the Kuomintang and Taiwan People's Party are planning to amend the Financial Planning Law. The Democratic Progressive Party has expressed concerns that the proposed amendment, supported by the blue and white camp, could potentially increase the budget by around 1.5 trillion NT dollars, risking the collapse of national finances and leading to the possible loss of subsidies for childcare, tuition, rental assistance, and long-term care, as local governments may divide the majority of the budget and fail to distribute the subsidies.
