At the 29th Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards, the Chinese drama 'Blooming Flowers,' directed by Wong Kar-wai and starring Hu Ge and Tang Yan, won 5 out of 9 nominations, including Best Chinese TV Drama, Best Actor for Hu Ge, and more. The series, adapted from the novel 'Five Points' by author Jin Yucheng, tells the story of individuals facing challenges in 1990s Shanghai and striving for personal growth. Despite high expectations, Tang Yan lost to Zhou Xun for Best Actress, surprising many. The drama's success was attributed to the extensive effort put into its production.
