Drinking Ice Water in Summer: Is Stroke Possible?

Reported 8 months ago

Recent hot weather in Taiwan has raised concerns about drinking ice water leading to stroke, with some doctors advising against drinking extremely cold water when temperatures reach 40 degrees to prevent discomfort. While there is a circulating belief to drink warm water regardless of the weather to avoid health risks from drinking cold beverages, experts recommend gradually hydrating with room temperature water and replenishing electrolytes during hot weather. Consuming high-sugar beverages like bubble tea can actually accelerate dehydration, making one thirstier. After exercising, it is recommended to choose isotonic sports drinks to replenish water and electrolytes effectively.
