After a customer complained about finding a cockroach in their iced tea at a popular barbecue restaurant in Taipei City, the Health Bureau will inspect the establishment for hygiene issues. Another incident involved a customer finding a 2-centimeter medical needle in a meal at a roast meat restaurant, with the operator attributing it to a broken needle left by an upstream manufacturer. The Health Bureau discovered various deficiencies in food safety management during inspections but found no foreign objects in the ingredients. Measures are being taken to enhance supervision of pig breeders to prevent similar incidents from affecting food safety.
