Driver of Tractor Trailer Sentenced to 11 Months in Prison for Causing Death of Cyclist in Taiwan

A tractor trailer driver, surnamed Cai, was convicted of manslaughter for fatally striking a cyclist named Huang in a collision while making a right turn in Yanzhou Township, Pingtung County. Due to Cai's negligent driving, which included not yielding to oncoming traffic and driving on a road restricted for certain vehicles, he was sentenced to 11 months in prison. The court found Cai to be the primary cause of the accident, while Huang was considered partially at fault for not having proper lighting while riding at night on an unseparated dual carriageway. The tragic incident resulted in Huang's death and a legal penalty for Cai.
