In Taichung, a habitual thief stole from claw machine stores, was caught by the owner and reported to the police on June 8, admitted to the crimes but was released without bail by prosecutors. He continued stealing in Taichung and Changhua, with the owners deciding to catch him themselves after feeling that reporting to the police was ineffective. The thief attempted to escape with great force, but was subdued by store owners without causing harm. Found with drugs, he was released by prosecutors and resumed stealing, even in broad daylight, without being reported to the police by the owners. Known for his distinctive features, the thief, despite being caught and found with drugs, continued to steal from multiple claw machine stores unimpeded.
