The Criminal Investigation Bureau recently received a report from the Customs Administration, indicating that drugs were hidden in ordinary letters sent from the Netherlands. Upon investigation, the police discovered 19 letters containing various drugs, leading to the arrest of a 28-year-old suspect and 6 others involved in a drug trafficking operation across Taiwan using this method. The main suspect coordinated the drug delivery process from behind the scenes, with different team members responsible for different tasks such as providing addresses, collecting mail, transporting drugs, and finding buyers. The suspect operated in a structured manner to avoid detection, with each letter earning him profits ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 NT$. Three of the suspects have been remanded in custody pending trial for drug-related offenses.
