Taiwan Power Company has launched a new 'Residential and Commercial Automated Demand Response Trial Program' starting July, incentivizing users with energy-saving rebates by utilizing smart home appliances like air conditioners and dehumidifiers. By reducing electricity consumption compared to the same period last year, participants can earn rewards of at least NT$84. The program, running until November 30th, aims to save 640,000 kWh of electricity over five months. Interested individuals need to register online, and the process involves no adjustments to appliance settings, as third-party service providers handle the operation based on power-saving commands from the power company, and users maintain control over their devices. Limited to 2,000 units, the trial runs sporadically from 2 PM to 10 PM daily for one hour each time, up to twice a day, assuring no impact on lifestyle quality.
