On June 22, 2024, at 11:28 p.m., a 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred in the sea off Fukushima, Japan. The quake had a depth of about 50 kilometers. Fukushima’s Tamura City and Kawauchi Village recorded the highest intensity of 4, while Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki, and Tochigi Prefectures experienced an intensity of 3. Even areas in Tokyo, such as Chiyoda and Shibuya, felt the tremor. The Japan Meteorological Agency reassured that no tsunami risk was associated with this earthquake.
