Eat This Fruit to Relieve Constipation and Bloating! Doctor Reveals Research: Eating 2 a Day can Increase Bowel Movements by 1.5 Times a Week

Due to the high work pressure of modern people, constipation is a common health issue. To address this, Associate Professor Li Bo-Xian from the Gastroenterology Department at Chang Gung Hospital in Linkou suggests that eating 1 fruit a day can not only improve constipation but also increase bowel movements by more than 1.5 times a week. He warns that consuming highly processed foods increases the risk of constipation, as shown in a study published in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Additionally, a study suggests that consuming 10% more ultra-processed foods daily can increase the risk of irritable bowel syndrome by 8% in the long run. Li recommends consuming green kiwi and dragon fruit to help with constipation, based on a randomized study from the American Journal of Gastroenterology which found that eating 2 green kiwis a day is more effective in relieving constipation and increasing bowel movements by over 1.5 times a week compared to 7.5 grams of psyllium husk, with no side effects.
