Constipation is a common issue for many people, especially in modern urban areas. Associate Professor Lee Po-Hsien from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital's Department of Gastroenterology pointed out that constipation and irritable bowel syndrome are common problems among young people nowadays. Eating a fruit daily can help improve constipation and increase bowel movements by more than 1.5 times per week, according to a study published in the 'Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology' journal. The study also emphasized the negative impact of consuming highly processed foods on constipation risk, suggesting that replacing 10% of processed foods with minimally processed ones could reduce constipation probability by 10%.
