A recent study has found that consuming 'ultra-processed foods' increases the likelihood of constipation by more than 2 times. These highly processed foods contain additives and synthetic ingredients, leading to changes in gut bacteria and resulting in diseases. The study also showed that replacing 10% of ultra-processed foods with 'minimally processed foods' reduces the risk of constipation. Additionally, there is a strong correlation between eating ultra-processed foods and the risk of irritable bowel syndrome, emphasizing the importance of reducing these foods for gut health.
