The Economic Affairs Ministry launched the 'Residential Energy-efficient Home Appliance Subsidy' last year, with over 70% of applications being for air conditioners. With funds running low, an additional 14 billion has been allocated, extending the subsidy until 2028. Applicants replacing old appliances with new, energy-efficient ones can receive 3000 yuan for each and an additional 2000 yuan if combined with tax exemptions, attracting many participants. The ministry is also proposing a second 4-year plan with a total budget of around 140 billion for 2028.
