During a visit to Washington, Economic Minister Guo Zhixuan acknowledged the sensitivity of small and medium enterprises to costs and taxes, urging continued support from the US for the ADTA bill (Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreements) to prevent double taxation between Taiwan and the US. Guo's trip aimed to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Taiwan and the US, particularly in light of increased investments by global tech giants like Intel and Qualcomm in Taiwan's semiconductor supply chain and AI server sectors. Additionally, Guo highlighted the importance of completing the ADTA legislation promptly due to the sensitivity of small businesses to costs and taxes.
