Ecuador suffered a nationwide power outage on June 19th, leaving approximately 18 million people in the dark, with basic infrastructure such as traffic lights and the metro system in the capital city of Quito also coming to a halt. The outage was caused by a transmission line failure, leading to a lack of power supply. Authorities are working to repair the power system with an estimated restoration time of up to 4 hours.
