A citizen group in Taiwan, known as the 'Mountain Sea Citizen Demolition Action,' has initiated a petition to remove Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang from office, with the second phase deadline set for June 30. The group has already surpassed 72% of the required 31,000 signatures. Despite the petition, the Keelung city government emphasizes that it will not be affected, focusing instead on municipal affairs. Local lawyer Lin Zhiqun sarcastically mentions that due to Mayor Xie Guoliang's actions, Keelung residents have gained nationwide attention. Lin criticized the mayor for various controversial decisions like the East Coast Plaza dispute, peculiar bids for parking lots, the installation of artificial turf, and other imprudent projects.
