Following a drop in egg prices, Taiwan's egg merchant association announced a 2 yuan decrease in wholesale egg prices, reaching a new low of 25.5 yuan per Taiwanese catty. Convenience store chains like FamilyMart, OK mart, and 7-ELEVEN quickly responded with price reductions for tea eggs, sparking discussions online. This price drop is a result of oversupply and low demand in the egg market, with retailers like Lyle Fu offering individual tea eggs for as low as 9 yuan during the promotional period.
