As a result of egg overproduction and low market demand for eggs, the Taipei Egg Merchants Association announced a further 2 Yuan price drop in egg prices, with farm prices reduced from 27.5 Yuan per catty to 25.5 Yuan, reaching a near 3-year low. Starting from the 27th, wholesale prices will be adjusted from 37 Yuan to 35 Yuan per catty. Due to this price adjustment, Lai Lai Mart has launched a limited-time promotion where tea eggs, originally priced at 13 Yuan per piece, will now be sold for just 9 Yuan from June 26th to July 23rd. Other stores like OK Mart and Family Mart will also introduce similar price reduction offers, sparking discussions online and prompting hopes for breakfast shops to follow suit in reducing prices.
