Domestic egg consumption remains low, with origin prices in Taiwan dropping by 3 NT recently for the fifth time in two months. In response to the price adjustment, supermarkets have started lowering egg prices, with Carrefour reducing prices for 10-pack of washed selected eggs by 5 to 8 NT, ranging from 47 NT to 55 NT; PXmart also decreased box-packed eggs from 50 NT to 47 NT and introduced tea eggs at 9 NT each, the lowest in Taiwan. Amid poor egg sales during Dragon Boat Festival, domestic egg prices have hit a new low in nearly two years, with origin prices falling from 30.5 NT per catty to 27.5 NT per catty.
