Domestic egg prices in Taiwan have dropped below the cost price, with the local farmgate price at 27.5 NT dollars, prompting calls from the Republic of China Poultry Association for a reduction in feed prices to lessen losses for egg farmers. New Agricultural Technology has set a precedent by announcing a 0.4 NT dollar per kilogram reduction in all feed prices starting from June 18th. While international corn prices have decreased, there have been limited reductions in feed prices locally. Discussions between the Poultry Association and Feed Association are on the horizon as stakeholders work towards finding a balance between cost management and market dynamics.
