Egg prices in Taiwan have reached a new low in nearly two years, but consumers have not felt the impact as breakfast with eggs still sees price increases. Taipei City's egg merchant association and chicken farming association have called on retailers to moderately reduce prices. Starting tomorrow, Wellcome will lower the price of boxed eggs from 50 yuan to 47 yuan, while Carrefour will decrease the price of regular temperature washed selected eggs by 5 to 8 yuan. Other supermarkets and stores are also offering discounts on various types of eggs.
