On June 28, 2024, the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed with an index of 23,032.25, up 126.27 points, with a trading volume of 435.06 billion yuan. Eight state-owned banks in Taiwan sold more shares in semiconductor stock Newsoft (4919), surpassing 6,789 shares, followed by financial stocks Yuanda Gold (2885) and electronic retailer Lianqiang (2347), each surpassing 4,975 and 4,036 shares. While six out of the top ten selling stocks closed positively, four closed negatively, netizens wonder why the elderly sold so many shares of Newsoft.
