Elderly Director's 8 Billion Estate Allocation Video Will Invalidated by Court: Lawyer Points Out Key Issue

Reported 8 months ago

FTNN News: On June 23, 2024, an elderly entrepreneur known as 'Director Wang' attempted to allocate his estate before passing away by recording a video will, instructing to give 5 billion company shares to his eldest son and real estate plus around 3 billion in cash to his youngest son. However, after his passing, the sons still ended up in a legal battle over the inheritance with the eldest son presenting the video will as evidence, only to be ruled against by the court. Lawyer Su Jiahong highlighted that the key reason for the will's invalidation was due to Director Wang not properly formalizing a written will, emphasizing the importance of legally protecting future generations' inheritance beyond oral instructions.
