In Taoyuan, an 82-year-old man and his wife visited a bank to get a debit card and planned to lend their account to someone else, raising suspicions from bank staff who promptly alerted the local police. The elderly man mentioned he could earn 5,000 a month by lending the idle account, but was advised against it by the bank staff and police. Despite reluctance, he eventually gave up the idea after further persuasion. Authorities caution the public against falling for fraudsters' tactics and giving away personal information and financial cards to prevent becoming an accomplice to scams, emphasizing the potential legal consequences.
