In New Taipei City's Zhonghe District, a 66-year-old man surnamed Xie kindly offered a ride to two strangers on his motorcycle, but the overloaded bike lost control while going downhill, resulting in a fatal accident. One of the passengers died, while the other was injured. Despite the tragedy, the victim's family unconditionally forgave Xie. The court sentenced Xie, who was driving without a license, to four months in prison for causing the fatal accident. The family's forgiveness led to a plea of leniency. The case can be appealed.
