In Taipei on the morning of July 3, 2024, two elderly Filipino women in their 70s had a public argument on Linsen North Road, during which one of them brandished a knife, resulting in the injury of one person. Passersby quickly reported the incident out of fear, and the police arrived to arrest the woman holding the knife. She explained that she was upset because the other woman was speaking ill of her everywhere, leading to the altercation. This incident shocked onlookers present during the evening rush hour, and the injured woman was taken to the hospital. Both individuals involved were retirees with Taiwanese ID cards, and the conflict arose from accusations of slander.
