In a bizarre incident at Quzhou Airport (JUZ), China, a passenger mistook the emergency door for the restroom door on her first flight, causing the inflatable slide to deploy. This caused panic among flight attendants and passengers, with the passenger in question crying upon hearing about the compensation she would need to pay. The flight was canceled as a result, with passengers receiving compensation of 400 RMB (about 1800 TWD) each. Aviation experts suggest compensation for opening an emergency slide can range from 100,000 to 200,000 RMB (about 450,000 to 900,000 TWD), but China International Airlines has not disclosed the specific amount yet.
