Electric Car Insurance Premiums to Increase by 6-9% in July, Not as Expensive as Expected for 60,000 Car Owners

Reported 8 months ago

Starting in July, exclusive insurance policies for pure electric cars will see a 6-9% increase in premiums compared to traditional fuel cars, with some models like the Tesla Model 3 and Luxgen n7 facing additional costs of 3000 and 2100 yuan respectively. Despite concerns, premiums for Type A electric car insurance remain the same as fuel cars, with Type B and Type C premiums increasing by 6.8% and 9% respectively. The slight increase in premiums is expected to boost confidence and prompt car owners to consider higher coverage levels. The discrepancy in premiums between electric and fuel cars is attributed to the different parts and repair costs involved, as well as industry loss rates and potential market impacts.
