Taiwanese electric car brand MG launched its first electric car, the MG4, on June 13, 2024, with a starting price of less than one million. Priced competitively within the budget-friendly range, over 7,000 sets of consumers reserved test drives before the market launch, showing positive market outlook and prompting MG's parent company, NIO, to offer price reductions for its N7 model as well. The competition between these two locally produced electric vehicles signals a new era in the electric car market, with expectations of market disruption. MG4 offers two models with prices starting at 99.9 million for the EV flagship version. Anticipating strong demand, MG Taiwan expects to deliver 250 cars in July and at least 1,600 cars for the full year.
