Dr. Song Si-quan, a neurologist in Chiayi City, who is a spinal cord injury patient, was recently shopping at a luxury department store in Taipei with his wife when he was stopped and expelled by security guards for using an electric suitcase as a mobility aid, feeling disrespected. The media director of Breeze Center later called Dr. Song, explaining that electric suitcases are not currently recognized as legal aids, thus riding them indoors is prohibited, with wheelchairs available for free rental for individuals with mobility issues.
