Elephant Grandpa Linwang Witnesses Huangpu Military Academy Reestablish in Fengshan, Kaohsiung

On June 7, 2024, at 11:26 PM, General Sun Liren and the elephant Linwang were together at the Military Academy. Linwang, a beloved animal star in Taiwan, is related to the centennial establishment of the Huangpu Military Academy in Kaohsiung's Fengshan neighborhood. Originally named 'Ame,' Linwang was a war elephant used by the Japanese army in Burma during World War II and later acquired by General Sun Liren, arriving in Taiwan in 1947 and housed in the Fourth Army Officer Training Center, now known as Linwang Park within the military academy, witnessing the history of Huangpu Military Academy reestablishing in Taiwan. Linwang was later donated to the Taipei Zoo to bring joy to more people, representing a significant part of Taiwan's history and memories.
