During the Cannes International Creativity Festival, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, mentioned that he believes his Optimus humanoid robot can become everyone's 'friend' and emphasized that the robot will not be made to look more human but will be made to look more 'attractive.' Drawing inspiration from the movie 'Star Wars' and the droid R2-D2, Musk envisions robots that are more easily accepted by people and capable of performing various tasks, such as household chores, childcare, dog walking, and more. Musk anticipates a future where everyone will have their own robot, designed with a generic humanoid form to suit different job requirements and work settings. Musk mentioned the release of Tesla's second-generation humanoid robot, Optimus Gen 2, with improved movement precision and faster walking speed. Musk plans to deploy Optimus robots in factories by the end of the year, with sales to the public planned by the end of 2025, first using them in Tesla factories to assist in product production processes.
