Tech mogul Elon Musk withdrew his lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Altman in February, accusing them of not using artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity but for profit. Musk suddenly dropped the lawsuit without providing any reasons on 6/11, the day before the scheduled court hearing. The lawsuit stemmed from claims that OpenAI did not uphold promises made during its establishment, including being an open-source and non-profit company. Musk demanded that OpenAI release all research to the public and stop profiting from assets like ChatGPT-4. OpenAI countered, stating Musk supported it becoming a for-profit enterprise and denied promising to be open-source. The withdrawal, labeled as 'without prejudice,' indicates Musk may file again in the future. Both parties have not commented on the sudden development.
