An update on Mashdigi on June 12, 2024, revealed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk's lawsuit filed in February against OpenAI co-founders Sam Altman and Greg Brockman has been quietly withdrawn before the official hearing. The lawsuit, which accused OpenAI of deviating from its original mission of 'benefiting humanity' by becoming a 'subsidiary' of Microsoft after receiving a $13 billion investment and owning 49% of its equity, was supported by a 35-page complaint. Legal experts noted the lawsuit heavily emphasized Musk's interests in OpenAI and lacked substantial grounds for the allegations. Musk's team chose to withdraw the lawsuit due to insufficient legal standing before the scheduled San Francisco hearing, with no response from either Musk or OpenAI. Nevertheless, Musk continues to hold biases against OpenAI, having founded his own AI company, xAI, claiming its technology is safer and more realistic, and threatening to prohibit Apple employees from using Apple devices if the company integrates OpenAI technology into its operating system.
