Billionaire Elon Musk has threatened to ban the use of Apple devices at his companies if Apple integrates OpenAI into its operating system, expressing concerns over user data leaks. Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, criticized Apple's collaboration with OpenAI and stated that all Apple devices are prohibited at his companies, with visitors required to leave their Apple devices in Faraday cages at the entrance. Musk founded xAI to compete with OpenAI, raising $24 billion in valuation during Series A funding and $6 billion during Series B. Musk previously sued OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman in March but has been working on developing ChatGPT through xAI. Apple, on the other hand, emphasized privacy at WWDC with AI developments combining on-device processing and cloud computing, aiming to assure data security by educating the public on secure data upload to private clouds.
