On June 27, 2024, Chung Shan Medical University (CSMU) launched the Silver Economy Start-up Accelerator Program in collaboration with various cross-sector enterprises to create a new collaborative model between academia, industry, and research. The aim is to build an industry ecosystem tailored for the aging population. CSMU president Huang Jianning, along with representatives from companies like Yongli Rongsheng Biomedical, Medonte Group, Treasure Island Optics, Compal Electronics, Herzhight Optoelectronics, and Avon Yacht, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to signify their commitment to cross-disciplinary integration and collaboration in order to nurture new start-ups. The event marks the beginning of efforts to develop a robust mechanism for incubating innovative industries geared towards providing better health services and improving the quality of life for the elderly in the central region. CSMU and its partners aim to address the challenges posed by the aging population by creating a dynamic ecosystem focused on health, well-being, and innovative solutions.
