In Kaohsiung, the Hefa Industrial Park near HTC and Chunghwa University of Science and Technology has reached nearly 100% occupancy with 96 companies and almost 13,000 employees. However, there is no public transportation in the area due to the lack of bus routes following the closure of the university's admissions. The city council discovered the inconvenience and is coordinating with Kaohsiung Bank for service and planning to trial a shuttle service to the MRT station. Major investors in the area include Foxconn investing in a Taiwan electric battery R&D center and other companies setting up. Infrastructure maintenance challenges have been raised, such as road damage and unstable power supply issues, prompting calls for improvements.
