The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will hold 'Protect Democracy, Anti-Authority' speaking events in Hualien, New Taipei, and Taipei on June 14, 15, and 16, respectively. DPP legislator Wu Szu-yao emphasized the importance of the DPP's 51 legislators in voicing and explaining the impact of the parliamentary empowerment law on Taiwan's constitutional order and human rights. She aims to strengthen citizen networks and accumulate energy for the Green Bird Movement, pressuring Blue and White legislators to comply with public opinion. DPP Secretary-General Lin Yu-chang stressed the need for Taiwan's democracy to deepen and for all citizens to understand political matters and their effects on people's rights and the effective functioning of the state system.
